DIFFERENTIATING INSTRUCTION WITH MENUS: LITERATURE

Starting from the premise that students will thrive when they choose the ways they prefer to learn, this innovative resource offers lists of choices, referred to as menus, from which students select items, known as products, to complete and show what they have learned. Four different types of reproducible menus are provided, each including lists of visual, kinesthetic, and auditory/oral products. Also included are specific guidelines for products, rubrics, free-choice proposal forms, and teacher introduction pages for each menu. Activities cover novels, short stories, dramas, and poems, including The Odyssey, The Grapes of Wrath, "The Gift of the Magi," A Raisin in the Sun, "The Raven," and more. Bibliography.
