Packs of 32 cards, all with historical images on one side and discussion-starters on the back, introduce students to the art of interpreting visual primary sources.
Images on the front of the 6" x 8" cards range from historic prints and paintings, to reproductions of documents, to photographs of historic locations or artifacts. Text on the back of each card provides historical context, prompts students to describe what they see, provokes discussion with an open-ended question, and tees up an activity that challenges viewers to imagine themselves participating in the event shown in the picture. Each box also includes a brief teacher’s guide.
Quantities are limited.
