In space pods (cooperative learning pairs or quads) students use estimation and hands-on measurement at each of ten constellation stopping points in space.

Their mission-build a space station where everyone convenes in a united effort to ensure galactic peace. Students will use math activities emphasizing length, volume, area, time, and weight measurements. They can earn Starbucks based on how close their estimates are to actual measurements, and use them to purchase space pieces for building pods. Students plot their journey on a constellation star chart. Can be completed in 15 classes or fewer.
