This Five Themes, active-learning approach to U.S. geography begins with a review of basic geography concepts while addressing the U.S. as a whole; five subsequent sections consider U.S. regions.
Each section presents nine or more lessons with teacher pages, student handouts, and answer keys. Addressing physical and cultural geography (including some history), lessons include readings followed by questions, making or interpreting graphs and tables, map interpretations, group simulations, and word games.
